Pilot Mountain burn gone wrong.

The intentions were noble.  Burn the underbrush so that  potential wildfires would be attenuated in the event of a lightning strike.  When things go as planned, it’s scary good.  This time things didn’t go as planned.  The wind got up and whipped the fire beyond its intented boundaries.

It is simply amazing the resiliency of mother nature. She nearly always recovers.

Spring in North Carolina USA

2013 is coming alive!  Alive with color.  The color of spring flowering botanicals.  Here in North Carolina the blooms are bursting with the recent warm weather.

With a wet winter and the temperatures rising, spring promises to be a showy one with plenty of color.  Favorite colors around here are white, purple/lavender and yellow.  Arrgh!
