Oak Island, North Carolina is hard to beat in the fall of the year. There are very little tourists, the weather is much milder and more acceptable, the traffic is near zero and the restaurants are spectacular. Quicker service, bountiful servings and seasonal menu choices.
One can navigate to the isolated places for some spectacular views and ultimately, photographic opportunities. The slideshow captures a couple of these timely places.

Early Fall Snow in Boone NC
In Boone, NC, the first day of November 2014 was a cold one. Blowing snow was 6 – 8 inches deep. The high was below 32 degrees F with a constant 20 mph wind sometimes gusting up to 30+ mph. At times, there was nearly a white out from the snow. The ASU football game was monitored from the house on the radio while a few brave souls bared the temperature and winds.
Thanks Boone and Valley Crucis for the warm hospitality and cold weather!
